About Trashiyangtse
Carved out from Trashigang in the 1990s, Trashiyangtse is one of Bhutan's quietest and most scenic eastern dzongkhags, known nationwide for fine wooden bowls and crafts produced in its villages. The dzongkhag is also home to Bumdeling Wildlife Sanctuary, a winter refuge for black-necked cranes. Chorten Kora, a striking white stupa modelled on Nepal's Boudhanath, draws pilgrims from across the region each year.
