Central Bhutan

Tsirang

Bhutan's lush "orange bowl"

About Tsirang

Known as one of Bhutan's main orange-growing regions, Tsirang dzongkhag occupies a warm, mid-altitude belt of rolling hills between the central highlands and the southern lowlands. It has no major dzong-town tourist circuit, but its terraced citrus orchards and mixed Drukpa and Lhotshampa communities give it a distinct character. The gentler climate makes Tsirang a pleasant, rarely visited stop for travellers exploring central Bhutan in depth.
