About Haa
Tucked behind a high ridge west of Paro, the Haa valley was only opened to international tourists in 2002 and remains one of the least-visited regions of Bhutan. Reached via the dramatic Chele La pass — one of the highest motorable roads in the country — Haa is a land of nomadic herders, dense forests and the twin temples of Lhakhang Karpo (White Temple) and Lhakhang Nagpo (Black Temple). Its remoteness and pristine landscapes make Haa a favourite for travellers seeking trekking routes away from the crowds.
